At Woodbury Senior Living, we are focused on promoting wellness to our residents. While many believe that only physical wellness is important, we believe that addressing the whole person is the key to living life to the fullest. Our wellness initiatives revolve around engaging the six dimensions of a person, or what we call the "Wellness Wheel." The six dimensions are social, intellectual, emotional, physical, vocational, and spiritual.
Our corporate partnership with the University of Minnesota's Center for Spirituality and Healing is helping us provide an even wider variety of wellness initiatives and alternative therapies to our residents. Well-balanced wellness activities are planned daily by our Director of Community Life/Recreation Therapy Services, the campus Chaplain, and the recreational therapy team.
Woodbury Senior Living is non-denominational and welcomes all faiths. Our campus Chaplain is available to perform spiritual care services such as worship services, bible studies, one-on-one visits, "meaning making" activities, and "spirituality and the arts" programs. We also have spiritual programs and services offered through the generosity of volunteers from local churches. We also place a special emphasis on the spiritual needs of those who struggle with memory loss symptoms as a result of dementia or Alzheimer's, allowing these residents feel more connected in their spiritual path.
Schedules vary by building. In addition, each year large-scale events are planned such as holiday parties, Christmas Carolers, Wellness Fair, Nite to Unite, and much more.
